Where is Your Treasure?

There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, and it is common among men: A man to whom God has given riches and wealth and honor, so that he lacks nothing for himself of all he desires; yet God does not give him power to et of it, but a foreigner consumes it. This is vanity, and it I an evil affliction. Ecclesiastes 6:1-2.

When we focus on what we do and do not have on this earth, we will never find true contentment. Our eyes need to be on the prize….eternity with our King. He gives and He takes away. And even though it may seem unfair, we are not to question God, but to trust him in all things, knowing He has our best interest at heart in all that He does. Some of us may enjoy what we have here on earth while others struggle in discontent, pain, and anger. In the end, none of that is important. What is important is our relationship with the Lord. How much did we invest in knowing Him more? How true to Him were we in our words and deeds? Our riches and treasures are stored up in heaven.

Matthew 6:21 says, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Where is your heart today? Is it in the things of this world? Or is it on Jesus, the only One who can save our souls and lead us to an eternity of glory?

Something to ponder…..
