Be PRESENT Among the Presents

imageI am feeling frustration bubbling up in me today. My “to-do” list for the day is more than my brain can wrap around. My famous “Christmas Fudge” hasn’t even been made yet, I have missed most of the Hallmark Christmas movies,my shopping isn’t finished (and let’s not even talk about the wrapping!), I haven’t had a chance to just sit and enjoy my tree and lights, and this stinkin’ cough won’t go away!

The great thing is…God is still on the throne! He is speaking to my heart and telling me that my frustration is from the enemy. He is telling me that I still have days of this Christmas season left to cherish the special moments, to finish my shopping and wrapping, to get made fudge made, and to enjoy the twinkling of my lights. He is telling me that the next couple of weeks need to be about my family, not my obligations. I need to be cleaning up cookie dough and wiping chocolate from the faces of my children. I need to be playing games and sharing memories of Christmas past. I need to take my daughters to lunch and share some giggles. I need to sneak away with my hubby for a late night stocking stuffer shopping spree. I need to help my children wrap the gifts they bought at Santa Shop. I need to be PRESENT among the presents!

Thank you Lord that you speak to me when I am weary. Thank you Lord that your strength is given to me. Thank you Lord that YOU are my reason for this season!
