Do you have something inside you that gives you a desire to seek the Lord? Do you crave the strength to carry out His will for your life? Are you excited about what God has in store for you? This is all part of your Spiritual Growth.
In 2 Peter 3:18 we read, “Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ”. What do we get when we come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ? We get a new beginning…the ability to be forgiven of our past and future sins and start fresh with hope and assurance. We get the security of knowing that God is always with us. He loves and accepts us. What a GREAT feeling it is to know that you are loved and accepted, despite your shortcomings! We also get to experience the Holy Spirit working in our lives. This Spirit can change our hearts and help us to make a positive change for others. We become servants of Christ. AND…we get God’s promise; the assurance that no matter what the problem you are facing or struggle you are suffering through, God promises us, “My grace is sufficient for you” (2 Corinthians 12:9).
To grow spiritually and strengthen our walk with the Lord, we need to seek His Word, and guard our time. Our time should be spent on the things of God, not the things of this world. Search your heart for the gifts and talents He has blessed you with, and seek to perfect them. Use them for His kingdom and His glory and you will be blessed. Set aside time daily to read the Bible, spend time in prayer, and meditate on the things of God. Keep in mind through all of this that God wants to use us to save others. Be the best you can be for Christ and fill your heart and mind with things that He would find worthy. By being disciplined to do all of these things, you will grow greatly in your walk with the Lord, and make a marvelous difference in the lives of others!
